Inside the Outdoors Foundation is recruiting new volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors.

Since 1994, Inside the Outdoors Foundation has partnered with Orange County Department of Education to expand ITO’s reach and serve those students most in need. Through our unique partnership model, we support Inside the Outdoors in their work to:

  • Develop innovative environmental education programs that build student’s competencies in environmental and climate literacy.
  •  Provide practical, hands-on learning to prepare TK through 12th grade students for critical careers in environmental fields.
  • Ensure all Orange County students have access to the outdoors and empower them to drive sustainable change in their communities.

Director Requirements

  • Commit to good governance and fiduciary care for Inside the Outdoors Foundation.
  • Participate in bimonthly board meetings.
  • Shape new initiatives in marketing, fundraising, and/or community engagement
  • Share Inside the Outdoors’ story and help connect with the broader community.

Desired
Backgrounds

  •  A strong passion for growing environmental literacy in
    Orange County.
  • Connections with local schools, businesses, or other stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) education, environmental research, or conservation.
  • Experience with marketing, nonprofit governance, or fundraising
